Who we are

At the Professional Practice Academy, our strength stems from our partnerships. The Academy commenced in 2015 with a ‘roundtable’ of key partner organisations, providing us with unique industry insight into the full scope of solutions necessary to build pathways to excellence.

Aligned with the National Disability Insurance Scheme and informed by our commitment to person-centred approaches to care provision, our partners provide a collective voice for our sector informing.

What we do

  • PPA provides aggregatory and coaching and mentoring to the industry in the areas of workforce, recruitment, education/training, and the digital environment
  • The online platform provides an avenue via which anyone with internet, can access a diverse range of industry approved and administered education and training relevant to the community services sector , including internationally recognised certifications , job specific attributional tools and access to an online, national, workforce community
  • The PPA community is gated, such that only our members are able to view, for example, our database. However, we also offer free membership so that all interested parties may navigate the space
  • We are globally unique, the first workforce transformation solution designed to specifically address workforce capacity and capability in our sector
  • PPA is built around a capability and aptitude assessment framework, and we provide a means of streaming suitable candidates into the emerging job family required by our sector to support the reform landscape
  • Facilitating employees to find talent that have undergone certification to a global standard; and that possess the requisite skills and experience necessary to be an ’employee of choice’
  • Facilitating sector professionals and aspirants to find work with organisations that are certified ’employers of choice’, or are building towards that status
  • Our members can complete not only the certification modules relevant to their job level, but can then undertake additional modules across the spectrum of emerging roles to enhance their employability and career relevance
  • Our members upon successful completion of their certification, can work in conjunction with RTO providers to seek RPL and qualifications (which are aligned to the Australian Qualifications framework)
  • We actively work with industry to bring together both industry approved learning content, with person-centred expertise to meet the needs of the NDIS reform landscape
  • Our approach reduces the risk of workplace stress and professional misalignment with the tasks to be performed-it is a platform to enable the delivery of ‘right person, right role and right development pathway ’
